Clear Creek and Platte Canyon are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Golddiggers will host the Huskies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Clear Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Clear Creek is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Lyons on Thursday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 9-2. The Golddiggers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Clear Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Raymond Kurtz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Platte Canyon didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson on Wednesday and fell 7-6. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dylan Severson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Platte Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Clear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Platte Canyon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clear Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. It's a different story for Platte Canyon, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Clear Creek's hitters?

Clear Creek skirted past Platte Canyon 14-13 in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Do the Golddiggers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
