Recap: Tuscumbia Lions vs. La Monte Vikings
The Tuscumbia Lions were the 59-51 winner over the La Monte Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Tuscumbia fell to La Monte 65-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Tuscumbia still got an impressive performance from Benley Boggs, who scored 25 points. The match was Boggs' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Damon Whittle, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Tuscumbia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for La Monte, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Tuscumbia will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Columbia Independent at 7:30 p.m. As for La Monte, they will head out on the road to face off against Tipton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
