Basketball Game Preview: Omak Pioneers vs. Liberty Bell Mountain Lions

The Omak Pioneers will head out to challenge the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Omak was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 66-60 to Chelan. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Mountain Goats are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Liberty Bell humbled Bridgeport with a 71-36 victory. The Mountain Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Liberty Bell's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5. As for Omak, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Omak came up short against Liberty Bell when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 67-57. Can Omak avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
