Preview: Menlo School Knights vs. Christopher Cougars
The Menlo School Knights will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Christopher Cougars at 1:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Live Oak typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Menlo School proved too difficult a challenge. Menlo School narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Live Oak 30-28.
Menlo School had a senior duo take command as Willis Johnson rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown and Mikey McGrath rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Christopher didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Archbishop Mitty on Friday, but they still walked away with a 32-28 win.
Christopher can attribute much of their success to Jaxen Robinson, who threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of William Rizqallah, who rushed for 32 yards and two touchdowns.
Menlo School pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Christopher, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-1.
