Softball Game Preview: Klein Forest Eagles vs. Heights Bulldogs

The Klein Forest Eagles will square off against the Heights Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Klein Forest hasn't scored more than a single run for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Klein Forest came up short against St. Pius X on Friday, falling 13-1.

Danyelle Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and ten unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Klein Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Culberson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Heights posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Cesar E. Chavez 5-3. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lobos recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Sara Paniagua was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing eight innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Flora Moreno was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Klein Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Heights, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
