Basketball Recap: Christopher Hernandez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Schuyler over David City

Schuyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 61-44 to the David City Scouts. The Warriors lost against the Scouts in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-27 score last time.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christopher Hernandez, who posted 17 points and six boards. Daniel Maiz was another key player, putting up nine points.

David City can attribute much of their success to Cameron Hlavac, who put up four points and seven rebounds.

Schuyler's record is now 0-3. As for David City, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Schuyler will face off against Tekamah-Herman at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for David City, they will challenge Elmwood-Murdock at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
