Drexel/Miami took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Liberal Bulldogs 42-40. The win continues a trend for Drexel/Miami in their matchups with Liberal: they've now won five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Liberal lost, don't look at Elam Beaman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 187 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Maddox Miller, who rushed for 79 yards and one score.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Drexel/Miami will face off against rival Lockwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Liberal is set to take on their familiar foe Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
