It was fun while it lasted, but Santa Fe Catholic's undefeated season came to an end after 11 games on Friday. They fell just short of the Owasso Rams by a score of 3-1. The loss put an end to the Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Santa Fe Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marvin Montenegro, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Santa Fe Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Santa Fe Catholic fell to 11-1. As for Owasso, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Santa Fe Catholic will be playing at home against Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bozeman will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Santa Fe Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Owasso, they will square off against Lake Wales at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Owasso's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Lake Wales' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
