Volleyball Recap: Clayton Valley Charter's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Clayton Valley Charter unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Oakland Wildcats by a score of 2-1.

Clayton Valley Charter's offense was headlined by Aluugh Fitial and Juan Carlos Cabral, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Jeremy Oviedo and his 21 assists. Fitial was also a major player on defense: he and Luigi Zabala shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Clayton Valley Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Oakland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Coincidentally, Clayton Valley Charter and Oakland will both be playing Castro Valley the next time they take the court. Oakland will head out to face Castro Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Clayton Valley Charter will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
