Recap: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Quinter Bulldogs
The Decatur Community Red Devils suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 52-26 defeat at the hands of Quinter. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Decatur Community has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Decatur Community lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michaela Wasson. Despite the final result, she scored eight points.
Quinter had a senior duo take command as Kelsey Selensky scored 14 points along with three steals and Kennedy Werth scored 11 points along with five assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Selensky has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Saige Betz, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Decatur Community's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.7 points per game. As for Quinter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Decatur Community won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rawlins County on January 20th.
