For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Athens and River Valley meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Raiders a 19-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Athens' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Athens will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
