Basketball Recap: Providence Gets the Win

On Saturday, the Providence Panthers didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Westover Wolverines, but they still walked away with a 70-65 victory.

Providence has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Westover, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Providence Panthers duke it out with the Charlotte Catholic Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Providence likes a good challenge. As for Westover, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-54 win against New Life Christian Academy on the 20th.
