Softball Recap: Peoria Christian Chargers vs. Dwight Trojans        
        
		
            
 Peoria Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch  in their first game  on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They suffered a  rough 12-3 loss at the hands of the Dwight Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Peoria Christian of the  10-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
 For Dwight's part,  Taylor Heath was a major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned runs off only  two  hits. Heath was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Megan Livingston was a standout: she scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played.  Averi Jury was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Peoria Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dwight, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
 Peoria Christian will head out on the road to  take on  Prairie Central at 2:00  p.m.  in their second game  on Saturday. Prairie Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.8  runs per game  this season. As for Dwight, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Putnam County at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
