Preview: Salmen Spartans vs. Northside Vikings
The Salmen Spartans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Northside Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Saturday.
Salmen might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 75-44 to Zachary, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Salmen was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.
The losing side was boosted by Destiny Bennett, who scored 13 points. The game was her ninth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-25, which was the final score in Northside's tilt against Lafayette Christian Academy on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northside has scored all season.
Salmen has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Northside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Salmen came up short against Northside in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 57-45. Can Salmen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
