Baseball Recap: Orangeburg Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Dorchester Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orangeburg Prep). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dorchester Academy Raiders a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Charlie McCutchen and Bryson Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McCutchen tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Williams pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At bat, McCutchen went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Williams went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Williams has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Tilden Riley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Landon Kuck was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

Orangeburg Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Orangeburg Prep, bringing their record up to 23-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dorchester Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

As of now, neither Orangeburg Prep nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
