Football Recap: Logansport Skates Past South Bend Adams with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Logansport on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the South Bend Adams Eagles out of the water with a 54-6 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-6.

Elliot Baldini went supernova, rushing for 189 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also catching one score. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Jackson Wicker got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Logansport was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 369 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 214 rushing yards in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Logansport's defense and their five sacks. South Bend Adams' QB won't forget Greyson Cottrell anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Wicker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Logansport's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 36.4 points thus far. As for South Bend Adams, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logansport will face off against Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Bend Adams, they will take on Mishawaka Marian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
