LBJ Austin has gone a perfect 3-0 against Taylor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Jaguars will take on the Ducks at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
On Friday, LBJ Austin took their contest with ease, bagging a 71-7 victory over Northeast Early College. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Jaguars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Raiders are ranked 1160th).

Marquis Murry II had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 100 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. He has become a key player for LBJ Austin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. The Jaguars also got help from Javarlyn Smith, who showed off his sure hands for 135 receiving yards.
LBJ Austin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Smith and Trace Lamar. Smith got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Taylor was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Eastside Early College 46-12. The result was nothing new for the Ducks, who have now won four matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
LBJ Austin better keep an eye on Eric Walker Ii. He was instrumental in Taylor's win, rushing for 202 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, Walker Ii is now averaging an impressive 104.4 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Caldwell, who rushed for 52 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Taylor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 247 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
LBJ Austin's record is now 6-2. As for Taylor, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Murry II and Walker Ii. Murry II just won't slow down this season and has run in 16 touchdowns while averaging 109.9 rushing yards per game. Walker Ii has been a dominant force too and has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 104.4 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for LBJ Austin against Taylor when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 46-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
