It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but The First Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Lyman Greyhounds. The victory was familiar territory for the Royals, who have now won three games in a row.
Isabella Brown made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched eight innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
