Softball Recap: Leo Beats Eastside for Their Third Straight Win

Leo barely beat Eastside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Blazers 13-7 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leo got a big performance out of Ella Moore, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kortney Dowty, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Leo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Leo's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Eastside, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-4.

Leo and Eastside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Lions (ranked 26th) will meet DeKalb (ranked 158th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Eastside will take on Lakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (38 vs. 246).
