Basketball Recap: Curlew Comes Up Short

Curlew was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Inchelium Hornets, falling 66-30. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-17.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Olson, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. Olson also put up a block, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gabriel (Gabe) Pak, who scored six points.

Curlew's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Inchelium, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Curlew will be home for the holidays to greet Republic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 64.3 points per game this season. As for Inchelium, they will head out on the road to face off against Northport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
