 Chavez entered their tilt with Kennedy with six consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Kennedy Thunderbirds  a   3-0 shutout  on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for Chavez, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

 On Kennedy's side,  Diego Ruiz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on five hits. Ruiz has been consistent recently: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 Chavez pushed their record up to 15-12 with that  win, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Kennedy, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost 16 of their last 18 matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record  this season.
