It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Waccamaw ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Myrtle Beach Seahawks 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since May 2, 2024.

Diego Patrick tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Waccamaw's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Craft, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win got Waccamaw back to even at 3-3. As for Myrtle Beach, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Waccamaw will welcome Marlboro County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Myrtle Beach, they will venture away from home to challenge St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Myrtle Beach is facing St. James at the right time seeing as St. James is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
