John Jay lost to Beacon  back in April of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Patriots walked away with  a   9-5  win over the Bulldogs. The  victory was just business as usual for the Patriots, who after nine games remain undefeated  this season.
 Alex Jendras made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Jendras was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  run and one  double.
 In other pitching news,  Tyler Ostrander looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  a single  walk any time he's  pitched this season.
 Back at the plate, John Jay let  Austin Seipp and  Marc Cretara run wild. Seipp  went a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI, while  Cretara  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  Cretara a new career-high.  Landon Stitchbury was another key player,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with three  RBI.
 John Jay was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .464. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
John Jay's record now sits at 9-0. As for Beacon,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 6-2 record.
 John Jay and Beacon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Patriots (ranked first) will meet New Rochelle (ranked 89th)  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile,  Beacon will  take on  Chester  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday with a big rank  advantage  (26 vs. 233).
