Soccer Game Preview: Varela vs. North Miami

The Varela Vipers will challenge the North Miami Pioneers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Varela is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over American.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Miami). They came out on top against Mater Academy Charter by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pioneers who have now won four matchups in a row.

North Miami is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-2 record this season. As for Varela, the win got them back to even at 6-6-2.

Varela came up short against North Miami in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 2-0. Can Varela avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
