Basketball Recap: Madison Sepeda's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Greeley Central over Thompson Valley

Greeley Central lost against Thompson Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Greeley Central Wildcats took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thompson Valley Eagles. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Sepeda, who posted 19 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Sepeda's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Leah Archibueque, who went 6 for 10 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Thompson Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justee Durtsche, who went 5 of 10 to rack up 10 points and six boards. Durtsche continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Penny Gilbert was another key player, going 5 for 7 on her way to 9 points and seven rebounds.

Greeley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Thompson Valley, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Greeley Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-24 loss against Roosevelt on the 7th. As for Thompson Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-18 victory against Mountain View on the 7th.
