Soccer Recap: Roxana Comes Up Short

Roxana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to the Civic Memorial Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Roxana of the 6-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Karsyn Kamp, who's now up to three this season.

Roxana's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Civic Memorial, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roxana will welcome Gillespie at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Roxana will be up against Gillespie's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.6 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Civic Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mascoutah at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
