Basketball Recap: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Paradise Valley Trojans
The Willow Canyon Wildcats waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They came out on top against Paradise Valley by a score of 75-68. Given Willow Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Trojans are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Braylon Haman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with four steals. Haman is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kaleel Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Willow Canyon pushed their record up to 21-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Paradise Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willow Canyon will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ironwood will be looking to extend their current 17-game winning streak. As for Paradise Valley, they will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunrise Mountain is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
