Baseball Game Preview: Biloxi Indians vs. St. Martin Yellow Jackets

For the second straight game, Biloxi will face off against St. Martin. The Indians will square off against the Yellow Jackets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Biloxi took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over St. Martin.

Shawn Gollott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Lofton, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Tristain Haynes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

St. Martin has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Biloxi, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12.
