Basketball Recap: Wayne Badgers vs. Valley Buffalos

Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 61-49 to the Valley Buffalos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffalos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-43 two weeks ago.

Wayne's loss came despite strong showings from Brayden Lee and Traeson Brown. Lee dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Brown posted 15 points. What's more, Lee also racked up three blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Wayne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley, they will take on Panguitch in a tournament on Friday. Panguitch is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Valley a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
