Baseball Recap: Quitman Takes a Loss

Quitman's last matchup with Stringer could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Quitman Panthers lost 12-2 to the Stringer Red Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Jaliel Cameron made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Quitman has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. The victory snapped Stringer's losing streak at nine games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-7 record.

Quitman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-4 win against Richton on the 1st. As for Stringer, they have also already played their next game, a 10-1 defeat against Simpson Academy on the 1st.
