Preview: Beallsville Blue Devils vs. Hundred Hornets

Beallsville is on a three-game streak of home losses, Hundred a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Beallsville Blue Devils will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Hundred Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Beallsville was beaten by Madonna 61-27.

Meanwhile, Hundred pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between Hundred and Valley wasn't particularly close, with Hundred falling 78-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hundred in their matchups with Valley: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Hundred saw an underclassman step up: Colt Sandy dropped a double-double on 24 points and 30 rebounds. Sandy scored a full 40% of Hundred's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Bartrug, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hundred were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Beallsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hundred, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-6.

Beallsville strolled past Hundred in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 63-48. Does Beallsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hundred turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
