Softball Preview: Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats vs. Andalusia Bulldogs
The Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Andalusia Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Trinity Presbyterian will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Greenville on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Andalusia waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Tigers. 15 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Kailey Jackson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Jackson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Kenzie Barrow was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
