Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Prep Tigers vs. Bishop McGuinness Villains + How To Watch

The Wilson Prep Tigers are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Bishop McGuinness Villains at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

While Tigers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Pine Forest 55-16.

Mahalia Thoms was a one-woman wrecking crew as she went 6-for-8 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Paris Best was another key player, putting up ten points.

Wilson Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop McGuinness). They took down North Raleigh Christian Academy 69-50 on Saturday. The Villains pushed the score to 59-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Bishop McGuinness' win came from a few key players Wilson Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cecilia Drabik, who shot 47% from the field on her way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Moore, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.
