Volleyball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Starts Season with Win on the Road

Murrieta Mesa had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the La Costa Canyon Mavericks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday.

Murrieta Mesa never let La Costa Canyon on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-20.

Airyss Celestine paced Murrieta Mesa's offense, picking up 11 kills. Celestine got some help from Analei Bradley and her 28 assists. Savannah White controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Murrieta Mesa has already played their next contest (against King), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for La Costa Canyon, they will take on Santa Fe Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
