Baseball Recap: Mendon Takes a Loss

Mendon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Irondequoit, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mendon got a good showing from Max Levitan, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Levitan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mendon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Harrigan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Mendon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Irondequoit, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mendon will face off against Honeoye Falls-Lima at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Irondequoit, they will square off against Brockport at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
