Basketball Recap: John Yowell Academy Comes Up Short

The John Yowell Academy Panthers were beaten by the Forsyth Home Educators Hawks 75-23 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 613th, while the Hawks are ranked 238th).

John Yowell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Forsyth Home Educators, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Yowell Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Revolution Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for Forsyth Home Educators, they will head out to challenge Surry HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will be up against the Runnin' Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.55 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
