Softball Game Preview: Goodrich Martians vs. Fenton Tigers

For the second straight game, Goodrich will face off against Fenton. The Martians will head out to face off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goodrich will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Monday, Goodrich needed a bit of extra time to put away Fenton. They skirted past the Tigers 4-2.

Jayden Gohs spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Olivia Bartlett and Alisyn Raether did most of the damage at the plate: Bartlett went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Raether went 4-for-5 with two runs and one double. Those four hits gave Bartlett a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Goodrich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fenton only managed seven hits.

Goodrich's victory bumped their record up to 23-8. As for Fenton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-8-1 record this season.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Goodrich hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Fenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs.
