Softball Recap: Baldwin-Woodville Takes a Loss

Baldwin-Woodville dropped their record down to 9-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Prescott Cardinals by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blackhawks have suffered since May 23, 2024.

As for Prescott, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch.

For Prescott's part, Kelsey Sterud was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Talli Roth, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Baldwin-Woodville and Prescott should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Blackhawks will take on St. Croix Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (55 vs. 231). Meanwhile, Prescott (ranked 84th) will meet Osceola (ranked 276th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
