Basketball Recap: Elk Grove Takes a Loss

Elk Grove suffered their closest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Monday. They fell just short of the Ygnacio Valley Wolves by a score of 62-59.

Despite the loss, Elk Grove still got an impressive performance from Noah Hargrave, who went 8 for 14 en route to 20 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Jason Raga, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Antonio Kellogg Jr was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 21 en route to 29 points and three steals for Ygnacio Valley. Kellogg Jr's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jalan Cody was another key player, putting up seven points along with five assists and three steals.

Elk Grove's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Ygnacio Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Elk Grove will take on Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elk Grove has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three contests. As for Ygnacio Valley, they will square off against Miramonte at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Miramonte has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
