The Pensacola Catholic Crusaders can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Destin by a score of 53-44. That's another feather in the cap for Pensacola Catholic, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Maddie Hammergren was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jenecia Swindell, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Pensacola Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13. As for Destin, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pensacola Catholic will take on Bayside Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Destin, they will be playing at home against Laurel Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
