Volleyball Recap: Rittman Find Success

The Rittman Indians earned a 3-1 victory over the East Canton Hornets on Saturday.

Rittman was especially dominant in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 25-16.

Mackenzie Beltz had a dynamite game, getting 13 digs, five kills, and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

They weren't the only good servers: Rittman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, East Canton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Corinne Hawthorne had 13 digs. Kynsie Pero also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Rittman's record is now 6-10. As for East Canton, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Rittman has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Northwestern on the 30th. As for East Canton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Strasburg-Franklin on the 30th.
