Recap: Morrice Orioles vs. Durand Railroaders
The Morrice Orioles lost against the Durand Railroaders back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Morrice was dealt a 80-44 loss at the hands of Durand. While losing is never fun, Morrice can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 709th, while Durand is ranked 354th).
Markell Tate was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with five steals for Durand. The match was Tate's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jakob Nebo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Morrice's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Durand, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrice is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Byron at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd. As for Durand, they will challenge Ovid-Elsie at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
