Volleyball Recap: St. John's Bluejays vs. St. Henry Redskins
St. John was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the St. Henry Redskins. If the Bluejays were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Redskins when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 25-10.
St. John's offense was headlined by Alaina Martin and Madilyn Conley, who picked up five kills apiece. Conley really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with six. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Morgan Weimerskirch, each putting up two.
St. Henry had a senior duo take command as Morgan Baumer had nine digs and one assist and Alexis Buschur had four aces and three digs. Karlee Baumer also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for St. Henry, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
St. John's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Versailles on the 25th. As for St. Henry, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Marion Local on the 25th.
