Volleyball Recap: Firestone Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Firestone had won three straight home games and MaKenzie Smith did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Buchtel Griffins with a sharp 3-0 victory with plenty of help from Smith, who had 16 assists and seven digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

While Firestone won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 25-18.

Firestone's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Buchtel, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Firestone will look to defend their home court on Friday against Western Reserve Academy at 5:30 p.m. As for Buchtel, they will venture away from home to face off against Garfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
