Softball Game Preview: Duncanville Panthers vs. Midway Panthers

Duncanville hasn't had much luck against Midway recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Duncanville will look to defend their home field against Midway at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Midway will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Duncanville extended their winning streak to six on Friday. Everything went the Panthers' way against Cedar Hill as they made off with an 11-3 victory.

Madison Lee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, Duncanville let Aaliyah Marquez and Sadie Lomas run wild. Marquez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Lomas went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Iselah Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, while Midway put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Copperas Cove. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Bulldawgs.

Midway's win bumped their record up to 25-4-1. As for Duncanville, their victory bumped their record up to 20-11-4.

Duncanville might still be hurting after the 19-2 loss they got from Midway in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can Duncanville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
