Baseball Game Preview: Midway Panthers vs. Prosper Eagles

Midway hasn't had much luck against Prosper recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Panthers will challenge the Eagles. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Midway 2.6, Prosper 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Midway is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Klein Cain 9-8. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three matches in a row.

On Saturday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. Prosper was the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over Keller. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 18 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Prosper has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 23 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Midway, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-7.

Midway suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Prosper when the teams last played back in March of 2020. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
