Basketball Recap: Bloomington Comes Up Short

Bloomington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs, falling 75-51. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Purple Raiders, who fell 62-60 when the teams last met back in January of 2020.

Bloomington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9.

Bloomington and Mahomet-Seymour could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Bloomington will square off against Normal Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 510 places (552 vs. 42). Similarly, Mahomet-Seymour (ranked 260th) will meet Mt. Zion (ranked 56th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
