Softball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-20. They fell 5-0 to the Vincennes Lincoln Alices. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hatchets of the 9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for Vincennes Lincoln, their win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

For Vincennes Lincoln's part, Jaclyn Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Miller was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Washington will head out to take on North Posey at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hatchets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they will head out on the road to square off against West Vigo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
