Basketball Recap: Dakota Valley Skates Past Elk Point-Jefferson with Ease

Dakota Valley won the last time they faced Elk Point-Jefferson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Dakota Valley Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies 66-39. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 27 points or more this season.

Dakota Valley was led to victory by Luke Bruns and Logan Collette. Bruns went 9 of 14 to rack up 21 points, while Collette almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Bruns' evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Tyler Cornelson was another key player, putting up nine points.

The victory made it two in a row for Dakota Valley and bumps their season record up to 11-4. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Looking ahead, Dakota Valley is taking a road trip to face off against Vermillion at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Vermillion will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Dakota Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, they will look to defend their home court on February 14th against Beresford at 8:00 p.m.
