Softball Recap: Eight Straight Road Victories for Mt. Hebron

Mt. Hebron had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Marriotts Ridge 11-9. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win Marriotts Ridge walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Mt. Hebron pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Marriotts Ridge, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

Looking ahead, Mt. Hebron will face off against Hammond at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.78 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Marriotts Ridge, they will take on Atholton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
